Once Again Obama proves he is a man ahead of his time
After reading a news article today on CNN describing the threats against US politicians who voted for the universal health care bill, I was struck by how far some people have come and how far behind others are. While the Americans hold personal freedoms and democracy dear, they are quickly willing to raise arms if thier personla needs are not met in the democratic process. It made me wonder whether any violent conflict is justifiable or simplied justified depending upon how it is sold to us. I realise now that anything can be justified, even violence against those who have tried to make an historical and landmark change, if it affects even a few negatively. President Obama proves his courage every day and I dearly hope he never has to pay the ultimate price for his courage as other great leaders like JFK and Martin Luther King Jr. have.

World View
After a tremendous lunch discussion I realise the importance of a broad world view and exposure to many cultures. Many travellers seem to a have a comfort level with the whole world. An unexplored country is just another adventure waiting to take place.

Economic Recovery
Even though many people are still cautious it appears that the economic recovery has truly begun. Whether you are conservative or liberal we have to give the federal governments of Canada and the US some kudos.

Leadersip of one person can change the world
President Obama has once again demonstrated that enlightened leadership can have ripple effects around the world. The recent success of the summit of American countries was in no small respect attributable to his openess and desire to lead toward a common good rather than management of poor relations.

The first days of Barack Obama
Barack Obama's first days have been punctuated by bold moves and powerful choices. The closure of the Guantanamo Bay detention center shows his committmnet to humanitarian principles. I believe he will truly be the world leader of our generation and has the potential of leading North America into the light of wisdom out from the darkness of capitalism.
